The aeropress is a simple brewer, but very versatile with different recipes, styles of brewing, ratios, accessories, and more. Here we'll be covering how to easily brew a delicious cup of coffee with our winning aeropress.
How to brew with the aeropress
Equipment- Aeropress, filters, and stir stick
- Scale
- Kettle
- Grinder
Ratio & Measurements
- 1:16
- Coffee: 13g
- Water: 208g
Set Up
- Grind size set at 12 clicks on the Comandante coffee grinder. For those who are not using the Comandante, this is a few steps finer than pour over coffee.
- Heat water to 200F or 93C
Brewing Steps
1. Invert your aeropress
2. Pour 208ml of water
3. Add 13g of coffee on top of your water and start your timer
4. Stir for 15s. Make sure to break up any dry clumps of coffee
5. Wait until 1:40min
6. Turn your aeropress over, slight swirl, and then press for 30s until about 2:20min
Now it's time to taste your coffee. If your coffee is sour, we would recommend going a few steps finer on your grinder. If your coffee tastes muted, bitter, or lacking much complexity and flavor notes, experiment with going slightly coarser.
